Having Your Party at Home
If you have the room, patience, and a lot of time, hosting your party at home can be great fun and very satisfying. The thing you must do is take the time to prepare beforehand.

Plan the games you want to play and make sure you have all the ‘props’ / equipment ready. This includes wrapping up the pass – the – parcel with lots and lots of layers of wrapping paper!

Make sure you have prizes suitable for boys and girls for each game, including a few spare prized in case you have to fill time by having a few extra games you never planned on, or for if there is a draw!
Have a time sheet / agenda so you know what is supposed to be happening every minute and stick to it!

Make sure all the party food is prepared well before you little guests arrive. It’s no good trying to cook pizza and sausage rolls whilst you are also single handedley running the party as you are bound to forget them and leave them for too long in the oven.

Get your kids party bags ready before hand and have them ready to hand out at the end of your party. It’s a good idea to have a couple of spare too as you never know when a sibling of one of your guests will end up staying for the whole party and you’ll be left without a party bag for them at the end.

If you can give out your party bags for children just as they are leaving, it is unlikely that they will open the bag at your house. This means that you don’t have to worry about what is in them so much! What is fun for children may not be fun for your carpets or furniture. Stretchy putty may be fine with one supervised child in their own home but get 20 children with it in your house and you’ll be picking it out of the carpet and sofa for month ahead.

Have your Party at a Venue

This is the easiest, but probably the most expensive option, especially if you want to invite lots of children, but holding your party in one of those children’s play warehouses or laser zones is great fun for the kids. The kids are usually supervised by staff at these type of venues so for you, it’s just a case of grab a coffee, sit back and watch it all happen. These venues often offer to sell you party bags as part of the package but be warned they are not always up to much and you may want to do your own kids party bags.

Children judge a party by what is in the bag and, as sad as it sounds, so do the other parents.
